New legislation called the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) comes into effect on January 1, 2012. The goal of the AODA is to make Ontario accessible for people with disabilities by 2025.This legislation applies to all people, businesses, and organizations that:
Provide goods or services either directly to the public or to other businesses or organizations
Have one or more employees in Ontario
There are numerous requirements that employers must comply with regarding policies and procedures, to ensure that their customer service operations are accessible to people with disabilities.
Clear Path can help you meet these requirements. Through developing company policies and training employees on servicing people with disabilities, we can ensure that you are contributing to an accessible Ontario.
Take the quick self-test, to see if you are meeting requirements that will be enforced as of January 1, 2012.
