Employer Obligations

What are you required to complete as of June 15th, 2010?

  • Conduct an assessment of your workplace to determine where your operation might be vulnerable to acts of violence
  • Make immediate changes to your business practices and workplace design to reduce the risk of workplace violence
  • Create or update company policies, including procedures for reporting and investigating incidents
  • Develop and maintain programs to implement those policies over the long-term
  • Train your employees on their obligations and what to do if they are ever faced with violence or harassment in the workplace

Many businesses will face significant fines and penalties if they do not become compliant with the new requirements.
