HR Assistant Position Description

Position: HR Assistant
Reports to: Senior Disability Management Consultant

Assist other HR or WSIB consultants with client-related projects, creation of documentation and other WSIB or HR duties related to the management of a client specific account.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with various HR on Demand clients or other HR projects as requested
  • Prepare relevant correspondence such as return to work programs, initial and ongoing objections, investigation of/or request for SIEF cost relief and other documentation as requested by the Claims Manager on file
  • Assist Occupational Health Consultants with the creation of monthly reports for our clients that summarize activities taken, strategies deployed, and recommended next steps for each claim as requested
  • Ensure distribution of relevant documentation to client, injured worker, WSIB adjudicator, and/or treating professionals as necessary
  • Work cooperatively with the Medical Consultant to obtain successful outcomes of each WSIB claim assigned, including preparing standard documents as requested
  • Serve as a back up to the office administrator as required including assisting with the maintenance of the Web Office data files
  • Log all billable time associated with activities onto our on-line intranet site on a daily basis
  • Assist with other duties depending on the nature and needs of each customer engagement
  • Ensure that all work is done in compliance with privacy requirements outlined in current legislation

Critical Skills:
  • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and comfort working with online systems

Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Requires a university/ college degree or equivalent, CHRP preferred
  • Understanding of HR legislation, including Human Rights Code, The Workers’ Compensation Act, The Health and Safety Act
